Svoboda, Collins L.L.C. Completes Sale of Coffee Bean International, Inc.

CHICAGO, IL - April 30, 2007 - Svoboda, Collins L.L.C. announced today that it sold its equity investment in Portland, Oregon-based Coffee Bean International, Inc. (“CBI”) to Farmer Bros. Co. (Nasdaq: FARM), an institutional coffee roaster that sells a variety of coffee and allied products to the food service industry. Lincoln International LLC acted as CBI’s exclusive investment banking advisor in connection with the transaction.

CBI, founded in 1972, is one of North America’s first roasters of specialty coffees. Regarded as one of the industry’s premier roasters and wholesalers, CBI provides gourmet branded and private label coffee and related beverages and services to over 2,000 independent/chain specialty coffee retailers and foodservice operators. CBI was acquired by Svoboda, Collins in April 2004.
